Statement from Executive Director Nick E. Smith on Mayor Adams’ State of the City Address
In light of Mayor Adams’ State of the City Address, Communities Resist Executive Director Nick E. Smith released the following statement regarding the Mayor’s housing proposal:
“During his State of the City address, Mayor Adams proposed a ‘City of Yes for Families’ housing plan and $650 million in funding to address homelessness. These are critical issues our city is facing and it requires immediate action. While these proposals are a start, any plan must ensure that families and people experiencing homelessness are provided housing that is deeply affordable so that they can stay in their homes permanently. I urge the City to implement these proposals with the intention that it addresses our affordable housing crisis.”
